Welcome to the Weber State University Bands! Even though summer is in full swing, the Marching Band is hard at work. The Marching Band was invited to represent the Salt Lake Tribune in the Days of '47 Parade in Salt Lake City this year. The band worked on Saturdays since May to have a high-quality performance on the 24th of July. Now, the season is gearing up and the marching band is getting set to put on a great western show.

Please visit the photo gallery for some shots of our marching band as well as some other random shots of band members. Also new this year is an ever-growing collection of pictures from the Ogden Concert Band's trip to Chia-Yi City, Taiwan. Along with that online photo album is a soon-to-be-released CD-ROM slideshow of the trip.

The Director of Bands at Weber State University is Dr. Thomas Root. Together with his staff, he works hard in order to have an incredible year of fun and great performances.

Last year, with the Olympics, the band was involved in a couple of really great celebrations. First, the marching band played for the Olympic Torch Relay. Most people in the band will remember that event because of how cold it was! Next, the band played for the closing ceremony of the Paralympic games. This latter event was particularly important because it was the first time a national anthem had been played live for any Paralympic closing ceremony.
